Background about Auset

I recently found out about the goddess Auset. She is an ancient Egyptian goddess. She is also known as Isis.

My research on Wikipedia revealed the following:

• “Auset is the venerated ancient Kemetic daughter of Geb (god of earth) and Nut (god of the heavens). In addition, she is the mother of Heru and husband of Ausar.
• Kemetians represented her in the form of a throne, which represents the seat of power for the per-aa (pharaoh).
• In the Theology of On (Heliopolis), she is part of the Pesedjet, the collective company or “family” of nine gods in the On cosmogony, which included Ra, Shu, Tefnut, Geb, Nut, Ausar, Her-wer, Set, and Nebt-het.
• Auset represented the female productive forces in nature. Kemetians recognized her as a moon goddess and a mystic goddess of the supernatural associated with the tyet, a symbol of magic in Kemet.”

Tyet

• The tyet (Ancient Egyptian: tjt), sometimes called the knot of Isis or girdle of Isis, is an ancient Egyptian symbol that came to be connected with the goddess Isis. Its hieroglyphic depiction is catalogued as V39 in Gardiner’s sign list. In many respects the tyet resembles an ankh, except that its arms curve down.
• the tyet may be related to the ankh, for the tyet sign is often translated as “life” or “welfare.”
• The origins of the amulet are unknown. As a knot, however, its symbolism in Egyptian thought can give us some clues. A knot involves the idea of binding and releasing, the joining of opposites, and, since a knot secures things, protection. Knot magic was well known in Egypt from an early period; an inscription in one of the pyramids states, “Isis and Nephthys work magic on Thee [Osiris] with knotted cords.”

Isis

• Auset was also known as Isis, Egyptian Aset or Eset, she is one of the most important goddesses of ancient Egypt. Her name is the Greek form of an ancient Egyptian word for “throne.”

• Isis was the Goddess of magic and wisdom. Isis was also known for her magical power, which enabled her to revive Osiris and to protect and heal Horus, and for her cunning. By virtue of her magical knowledge, she was said to be “more clever than a million gods”.

Wikipedia says about Isis: 

• Isis (Ancient Egyptian: ꜣst; Coptic: Ēse; Classical Greek: Ἶσις Isis; Meroitic: Wos[a] or Wusa) was a major goddess in ancient Egyptian religion whose worship spread throughout the Greco-Roman world.
• Isis was first mentioned in the Old Kingdom (c. 2686–2181 BCE) as one of the main characters of the Osiris myth, in which she resurrects her slain husband, the divine king Osiris, and produces and protects his heir, Horus.
• She was believed to help the dead enter the afterlife as she had helped Osiris, and she was considered the divine mother of the pharaoh, who was likened to Horus.
• Her maternal aid was invoked in healing spells to benefit ordinary people. Originally, she played a limited role in royal rituals and temple rites, although she was more prominent in funerary practices and magical texts.
• She was usually portrayed in art as a human woman wearing a throne-like hieroglyph on her head. (Wikipedia)

My intuitive take on Auset goddess of magic and wisdom

Doesn’t it look like a laptop or computer with a screen and keyboard? And the top bit symbolises wifi or internet?!

As Auset Goddess of Magic and Wisdom, she is very clever and wise. All the symbols can be ancient representation and symbolism for technology that was more advanced that we dreamed! They are cleverly coded as symbols, birds, and sticks for people who don’t understand it.

So Auset or Isis is a divine goddess, with much wisdom, healing, protection and magic, who heals people and also helps them ascend (hence her wings) to a better afterlife.
