Art Addiction

As you know, I’m addicted to love. Now I have a new addiction – drawing sketching and painting – mainly I draw women’s faces and bodies.

I obsessed with drawing, I have to do at least one drawing every day!

I’ve collected many photos, drawings and picture and also there is some magic that is added in as well. It’s a fascinating process.

I’ve drawn lots of woman, goddesses, copied their essence and expressions and made them unique.

The process of drawing a face was inspired by Flora Aube and Ree Altavilla. On a suggestion by Jill, I took an online art course called “Gold Dust Woman”. The title intrigued me. It started in April 2017 and we first painted a huge canvas with gold acrylic paint, then painted over it using different colours and techniques. Finally a woman emerged.

My first female form was dancer, who nearly danced off he canvas. Then I realised I had “done it wrong” so I was stuck for many weeks. I knew I had to draw head and shoulders of a woman but I didn’t know how. Also I was travelling for business a lot and couldn’t fit in time to do my painting.

So I started by learning how to draw a face from You Tube videos. Then I started copying suitable pictures that inspired me – for practice. I enjoyed drawing them and, encouraged by Rose and other woman friends, I drew lots of sketches in my sketch pad – in charcoal, pencil and coloured pencils.

Self Portrait

A turning point was when I did the Black Moon workshop in Brisbane. After that I felt very sad and I decided to draw how I felt. The result was my first self portrait.

In a way, they are all self portraits – reflecting how I feel. Different aspects of the goddess, of feminine energy and power, emotion and life. Tantric energy often features… And goddesses of course

So that’s why I haven’t been writing many blogs recently and why my second book hasn’t had any chapters added lately! (Progress report – I have written about half of the eleven chapters and published one “Seduction by the sea”)

A new way of Seeing

It’s a new way of seeing – looking at details in faces and bodies that I didn’t see before. Being aware of subtle changes in light and shadow. How to represent a facial feature with lines and smudges, in black and white, in colour, with textures and hues.

I’ve made a website which shows what I have drawn. So let me know if you want to look at it and I will send you the link. I’m still a bit shy about sharing my art!

The great thing about it is that I can illustrate my new erotic fiction book that I am half way through writing with my own illustrations!!
